An almond peel is a gentle treatment designed to cleanse the skin and provide superficial exfoliation.
Due to the relatively large molecular size of mandelic acid, exfoliation takes place primarily within the superficial stratum corneum. Mandelic acid may be used for skin cleansing in cases of hyperkeratosis, including photoaging-related changes, as well as in skincare programs for acne and rosacea.
Features:
1. Gentle action: almond peels may also be used in adolescents to help address acne-related concerns when recommended by a specialist. The possibility of undergoing the treatment during pregnancy or breastfeeding should be discussed with a doctor.
2. Antibacterial action: mandelic acid helps reduce the amount of microorganisms on the skin surface. The treatment may be used for acne, including acne associated with photoaging, combining antibacterial action with a reduction in hyperkeratosis.
3. Helps reduce the appearance of pigmentation.
Glycolic Peel
The "gold standard" of exfoliating treatments. The main purpose of the procedure is to cleanse the skin and stimulate renewal processes without affecting the deeper layers.
It has moisturizing and brightening effects, supports collagen and elastin production, helps strengthen blood vessels and promotes tissue regeneration.
Indications for Almond and Glycolic Peels
Almond and glycolic peels may be used to address post-acne marks and inflammation, support normal skin renewal, and reduce the appearance of hyperkeratosis and pigmentation. The treatments may also be used to improve skin texture, firmness and elasticity and to reduce the appearance of fine lines. The appropriate type of peel and suitability of the treatment are determined individually by a specialist.
Contraindications
Most peels, regardless of the active ingredient and intensity of treatment, have a similar list of contraindications:
Individual intolerance or sensitivity to any of the active ingredients used during the treatment;
Pregnancy and breastfeeding are often considered contraindications or reasons to postpone chemical peels. Suitability should be discussed with a doctor;
Active inflammatory conditions in the intended treatment area may also be a contraindication.
